Raptor Meltdown
It's finished. We had fun making it and I learned some stuff. Can't ask for more than that.
Don't mess with mother nature. She's a bitch.

Dinosaurs
In a first for CMZPICTURES we are using CGI dinosaurs rather than messing around with servos and rubber. We are using Daz3D to render the dinosaurs. Its animation tools are basic but as this is short project with an eighties feel we feel like we can get away with it.
I wrote that previous paragraph before I realized that my dinos were gonna have way more screen time than originally planned... so now my dinos have to work a lot harder.. the only problem with that, is they are hard to anmate, slow to render and worst of all... impossible to kill... I have no way of physically interacting with the little digital bastards...

StoryBoards

Story boards are done.
And here it is, lit and ready to be shot.

The door was weathered a bit then a semi gloss finish added to make it look like painted steel. Blood and broken glass added to the cage bars and the interior added with some giant blood sprays and a hand print.
The interior is lit with a couple of flashing red led lanterns. The interior was also smoked up the smoke machine.

Camera Test
Wow, in low light the pixels from my camcorder sure are ugly. Also I'm definitely not hand holding, so we'll be back to the 5D on a tripod and doing everything really slowly and painstakingly, which isn't what I wanted but oh well.
Severed!

"And then I said, if you touch my banana again, I'll cut your hand off."
